Top Rope

If bouldering isn't for you and you're into longer, more scenic climbing, then Joshua Tree has excellent climbs that will test your strength and your nerve. There are tons of routes that have been set up over the decades and attract tons of people year round. Just remember, the climbs here are mostly trad climbs so make sure you bring your equipment with you.

Hiking

If climbing isn't your thing or you're looking for something to do on those days you're too sore to climb, then Joshua Tree is an excellent place to go for a hike. Though I discourage from going in the middle of summer, you can definitely find trails ranging anywhere from short to extreme lengths. Just make sure you bring some water, it's a desert after all.

About Joshua Tree

Joshua Tree is a great place to visit for anyone looking to climb, hike, camp, or for someone that just likes the outdoors. I've spent many days out here in this desert and have a deep love for it. I recommend reading up on the different areas of J.T. as it's a pretty big place. Bring plent of water and if it's you're first time, it's a good idea to bring a map. Also, cell service is pretty much non existant so you can download an offline map to your phone to help you out. And always remember, leave no trace behind. Pick up after yourself and if you see trash out there, please pick it up and take it out of the park.
